Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, MD, School of Medicine is hiring for a pediatric specialty care clinic RN. We are seeking an experienced pediatric nurse to partner in the growth of our specialty care clinics which include Pediatric Neurology/Sleep Disorders, Pediatric Endocrinology, Adolescent Eating Disorders and Pediatric Pulmonology. Responsibilities

  • Partner with providers to provide excellent patient care.
  • Manage labs, precription refills, prior authorizations and daily patient schedules.
  • DIrect patient care including immunizations, medication administration, POCT and patient rooming.
  • Knowledge and execution of policies and clinical standards of practice.
  • Phone triage specific to clinics.
  • Willingness to participate in advanced certification and accreditation opportunities.
  • Quality improvement initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN Program required.
  • Minimum of one year pediatric health care experience required. Three or more preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: 

  • BCLS certification
  • ACLS Certification preferred.
  • Valid Michigan RN license required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge and ability to use the EMR including Epic and Cerner.
  • Experience with Outlook, Teams messaging, appointment scheduling and the calendar
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent teamwork, willingness to cross train, and flexibility
  • Excellent attendance
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow.
  • Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
