The WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a board-certified or board eligible Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join their experienced and collaborative team and to serve as the Chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. This position provides the opportunity to serve patients in the community in a rural community academic setting.
This position will have administrative responsibilities within the division as well as inpatient and outpatient responsibilities within the pediatric orthopaedics service line at its two teaching health system locations, Ascension Borgess and Bronson Healthcare. There will be opportunities to further refine and expand the Pediatric Orthopaedic service line, develop acute care coverage for the pediatric patient, improve the multidisciplinary outpatient clinic services for patients with neuromuscular diseases and syndromes, optimize the scoliosis care pathway, and further relationships with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. There are teaching and curriculum development opportunities in both medical student and resident education. Furthermore, there are resources to support both basic science and clinical research. · Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship program.
· Must be eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Michigan.
