EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree in any life sciences field or biochemistry, required. MS in biology, biomedical sciences, molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or related field, desired. PhD in biology, biomedical sciences, molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or related field, desired.
- Prior research experience is required. Specific experience in molecular biology experimentation, cell culture, and sequence analysis is highly desired.
- Must have the capacity to use a variety of instruments and to learn new techniques and protocols.
- Standard lab techiques include, but are not limited to, PCR, Real time PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitations, human cell culture, molecular cloning, DNA purification, and DNA sequencing.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Abe to design, conduct, and interperate molecular/cellular experiments.
- Abe to manage daily laboratory activities, lab maintenance, order supplies, and organize experimental plans.
- Excellent communication and record keeping skills are required.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of work flow.
- Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- The employee regularly works in a clean, well-lighted, temperature controlled, and smoke-free environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Minimal risk of exposure to noxious substances and infectious agents.

- The employee must be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing and walking. Must have the ability to hear within normal range and possess the physical capability and hand dexterity to operate basic office and laboratory equipment. Occasionally lifts average of 30 pounds.
