Ensures auditing department provides a continuous risk-based review and evaluation of the organization's internal control structure, including its efficiency and effectiveness of operations, reliability of financial reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations. Provides oversight and coordination of operating reports and statutory filings as assigned. Oversees treasury functions. Responsible for supervision of assigned support staff responsible for duties involving payroll, student billing, grants and sponsored awards, monthly financial close process, annual external audit processes and treasury.

The department of Medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) is hiring faculty for the division of Infectious Diseases. Applicants with interests in ambulatory and inpatient clinical infectious diseases, teaching medical students and residents, and at all faculty ranks will be considered. There are also opportunities and resources to support clinical, laboratory, and educational research. The division has plans to start an accredited infectious disease fellowship program within the next 2 years. Leadership opportunities within the division and/or department is available for candidates with experience and track record of academic achievement and leadership.   The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) is leading change with our patient-centered medical home model, performance improvement initiatives, and focus on improving operating efficiency. The DFCM has a new chair supporting its young, dynamic faculty with a focus on faculty development, education, and seed grants, while providing generous CME and licensing support. Our dually accredited ACGME/AOA 9-9-9 Kalamazoo-based residency is housed in our newly acquired clinic space expanding to provide 20 clinic rooms and departmental offices ideally located to serve the community. Please note we have a separate posting for a non-OB faculty position at our new ACGME accredited 6-6-6 family medicine residency in Battle Creek, based in a beautiful FQHC.  The DFCM is home to a Street Medicine Program, Sports Medicine Fellowship, and Hospice & Palliative Care Fellowship caring for the underserved and a diverse community.  WMed enrolled its first class of medical students in 2014, which provides our faculty with the unique opportunity to be actively involved in the ongoing growth of a newer school. The psychiatry residency program is a fully accredited program, currently with 24 residents (6 per year with accreditation up to 8 per year). There are significant clinical and research collaborations with Integrated Services of Kalamazoo (ISK), Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health (SWMBH), Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VA), Kalamazoo State Psychiatric Hospital, Community Healing Centers of Kalamazoo, and the Great Lakes Center for Autism as well as other community organizations/agencies.   WMed Psychiatry is practicing the “Collaborative Care Model” (CoCM) with Bronson Healthcare and anticipating continued growth in the primary care practices of Family Medicine, Pediatrics as well as OB/GYN.    The Department of Psychiatry is experiencing tremendous growth within our clinical footprint and community collaborations, our scholarly work and research output, as well as our expanding education programs.
