The Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) seeks a faculty who is board certified or board eligible in adolescent medicine and eligible to practice in Michigan, to join its growing academic department. This faculty position includes full-time academic appointment as a core faculty member in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.
The department has 120 faculty members with clinical and full-time academic appointments in general pediatrics as well as pediatric subspecialties. The pediatric residency program has 30 pediatric residents, with an additional 16 medicine-pediatrics residents. The medical school has entering class of 86.

Medical Assistant III – must have current medical assistant certification (CMA or RMA) and several years’ experience in a clinical setting. Those with leadership and training experience will be given preference. $19.00 - $22.00/hour +, dependent upon years of experience as a medical assistant and leadership experience.

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine has an opportunity for a Navigator-Street Medicine. Street Medicine Kalamazoo (SMKzoo) provides medical care to unhoused individuals on the streets, in encampments, and shelters where they are temporarily housed. The initiative was started in January 2021 by medical students, resident physicians, and attending physicians from WMed. SMKzoo’s model of care helps overcome systemic barriers by taking medical care directly to the people and establishing a relationship of trust and mutual respect with the unhoused community while training the next generation of highly skilled and compassionate physicians.
The Navigator will work with the team to provide care to unhoused and precariously housed individuals living in the city of Kalamazoo. The Navigator will work closely with the physician Director and Associate Director. The ideal candidate must have a commitment to working with patients on their complex care needs and dedication to working and developing a collaborative team model of care. Experience in social work, medical eduction, and working or volunteering with the unhoused population is preferred.

The Research Lab Technician will involve both basic and translational research in the stem cell biology and application in regenerative medicine. The daily work relates to cellular, pathological and biological functional studies by using small animal models. We will also conduct translational studies by using patient samples vs. blood or tissues. We require the candidate with minimal 2-year laboratory experience on the fields of cell biology, pathology or molecular biology.
Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is recruiting for an Academic Advisor. The Academic Advisor provides academic counseling to their assigned students as a first point of contact. The Academic Advisor works with students to navigate academic challenges or remediation needs by providing support for expectations, understanding processes and policies, grade appeals, remediation requirements, professionalism lapses, and interface with the Medical Student Performance Committee (MSPC) and/or the Professionalism Subcommittee. Monitor students on a Learning Contract through the MSPC, providing support and connections to tutoring, other forms of academic assistance, counseling, and wellness services.
Performs activities necessary to prepare invoices and other business expenses that are paid through the document management system. Process, place and completes purchase orders that meet the organizations polices and guidelines. Process and document receipt of incoming packages at assigned location. Ability to train other employees on how to follow documented accounting procedures. Responsible for periodic and cyclical physical inventory activities related to inventory and fixed assets. Responsible for preparing special reports for management as well as other assigned administrative duties.
